Unity Temple – Unity House Windows

Challenge: Windows that had been replaced only years earlier in the national landmark (themselves a replacement) were already failing.

Solution: Working closely with Marvin, we developed a plan that would satisfy all involved – the historic district, Landmarks Illinois, and the Unity Temple congregation. Following this plan, Marvin custom made all the windows in specific sizes to match the existing openings. Custom profiled details were also incorporated into the construction to match those found on the original windows elsewhere in the building.

We carefully installed all the units, as well as over 600 feet of new trim that we fabricated in our own millwork shop. The completed project maintains the architectural integrity of the building while ensuring it will be drier, more comfortable, and better protected from the elements.
